Impact Principles at the 2026 GIIN Impact Forum

It was a pleasure to connect with Signatories, asset owners and ecosystem partners at the 2026 GIIN Impact Forum in Amsterdam through four sessions. Each drew on the Forum theme, Beyond the Blueprint: Scaling What Works. Financing What Matters, to explore how rigorous impact measurement and management (IMM) leads to better decisions, real-world outcomes and capital flows.

Impact Principles Signatory Luncheon

Our annual Signatory Luncheon brought together over 150 Signatories and invited guests on the theme of Impact Leadership across Asset Classes.

Joohee Rand, Head of Secretariat, gave an update on the Signatory community and Secretariat priorities. The community now includes ~180 Signatories in 40 countries, with more than USD $680 billion in covered AUM, and welcomed 11 new Signatories over the past year. Joohee also welcomed the newly elected Advisory Board members and shared early findings from the Supporter Pilot Initiative, which has engaged 34 asset owners, allocators and investment advisors. She also highlighted recently announced reduced fees for smaller institutions to support quality impact practice at every scale.

Following interactive table discussions organized by asset class, Signatory panelists discussed how they apply the Impact Principles across fixed income, listed equities, healthcare private equity in Asia and blended infrastructure finance. Panelists covered where implementation remains hardest and how demonstrated IMM rigor shapes where capital flows.

Special thanks to our speakers:

  • Welcome: Amit Bouri, GIIN
  • Opening Remarks: Marc Moser, Lightrock (Advisory Board Convenor)

Has IMM Delivered? A Candid Discussion on Where the Field Stands and What Comes Next

Head of Secretariat Joohee Rand hosted the third in a series of IMM workshops at the Impact Forum, following IMM Success Stories in 2024 and Next Frontiers in IMM in 2025. Panelists walked through their organizations’ approaches to systematic IMM. Together with participants, they assessed how far IMM has delivered for the field on better decisions, demonstrable outcomes, value creation and stronger accountability. Participants then worked in small groups to map out what IMM should look like by 2030 and the steps needed to get there.

Thank you to our speakers:

  • Laura Ulrich, Brookfield Asset Management
  • Keimpe Keuning, LGT Capital Partners
  • Kelly McCarthy, Vistria PRG
  • Joohee Rand, Impact Principles (Moderator)

Special thanks as well to our table facilitators from Baillie Gifford, Net Purpose, MK Global Kapital, Community Investment Management, Infranity and The Nature Conservancy.

LP Leadership in IMM Capacity Building Roundtable

Building on our annual DFI Impact Roundtable, we convened members of our DFI/MDB Working Group and Supporter Pilot participants for a private roundtable on how LPs can support managers’ IMM capacity, both formally and informally. Participants discussed gaps in the landscape and how different types of allocators can complement one another and reduce fragmentation.

Thank you to the following speakers for sparking peer discussion by sharing their organizations’ approaches:

  • Patricia Yanez Pagans, IDB Invest
  • Rebecca MacDonald, Better Society Capital
  • Kate Gatto, Rally Assets

IMM Advanced Practitioners Breakfast

Together with Impact Frontiers and GIIN IRIS+, we hosted a breakfast for advanced IMM practitioners to gather input on topics and format for the IMM Convening 2027, taking place March 17–18, 2027 in Madrid, hosted by our Signatory COFIDES. Learn more and pre-register on the IMM Convening website.

Across all four sessions, we were reminded that credible impact practice is what allows the field to scale what works and finance what matters, turning rigorous practice into real outcomes for people and planet.
