7th Annual Meeting and Reception

On June 25, 2026, the Impact Principles 7th Annual Meeting and Reception brought together Signatories and guests for an evening of connection and conversation, hosted by Schroders during London Climate Week. Through a panel discussion and peer conversations, we dove deep into this year’s theme of Impact Principles in a Changing World, examining how impact practice can scale and adapt to meet the moment amid policy and market uncertainties, diverging LP expectations, and pressure to mobilize capital in a complex environment. We were also excited to share Secretariat updates on our strategic priorities, the Impact Principles Supporter Pilot Initiative, our upcoming Advisory Board election, and new measures to support smaller asset managers.

A few key takeaways:

  • The case for voluntary standards: In a fragmented and complex global landscape, the Impact Principles – as a principles-based, universally applicable voluntary standard – provide a shared foundation for clarity and consistency in impact management practice across regions, asset classes and strategies. They help investors signal credibility while functioning as a practical management tool to drive better decisions and outcomes.

  • LP leadership in impact practice: Asset owners and allocators can drive stronger impact management practice by setting clear expectations and engaging GP as partners beyond capital allocation. Through the Impact Principles Supporter Pilot, we’re learning how LPs can use their influence deliberately to strengthen IMM across the investment lifecycle and in the broader ecosystem.

  • Climate finance and impact integrity:  As climate investing and other thematic-focused strategies scale, it is important to ensure that the increased capital flows are matched by real impact. The Impact Principles are well positioned as a practical framework that travels across strategies to help anchor in impact intentionality and discipline.
