5th Anniversary Celebration

We were delighted to commemorate the 5th Anniversary of the Impact Principles in London with ~120 Signatories and invited guests on May 15th, 2024!

In an evening of celebration and connection, we recognized the achievements of the past five years and looked to the future of the Impact Principles as the global standard for integrity in impact practice. Advisory Board Convener Maria Teresa Zappia (BlueOrchard) began the event by welcoming attendees and highlighting the success of the Impact Principles in clarifying what it means to invest for impact. We celebrated former Head of Secretariat Diane Damskey for her five years of dedicated service and leadership, and she expressed her gratitude to all those who have supported the Impact Principles’ launch and continued growth.

Looking forward, Head of Secretariat Joohee Rand presented our new strategic vision for integrity driving scale and outcomes. She shared an overview of our Signatory community and discussed how we aim to grow the Signatory base globally, expand market influence across the capital value chain, and ensure that we meet the evolving needs of our Signatories and the broader market, including through active engagement with asset owners and allocators.

An asset owner and allocator panel, featuring Claudia Kruse (APG), Andrew Lee (UBS Global Wealth Management), and Danielle Brassel (Zurich Insurance Company) and moderated by Christian Rosenholm (GIIN), highlighted the pivotal role that the Impact Principles play in enabling investors’ confidence in selecting asset managers with consistent rigor, transparency, and impact integrity. For our asset manager panel, Jennifer Pryce (Calvert Impact) moderated a discussion with a diverse group of asset manager Signatories about how the Impact Principles can further drive the scaling of the market and ultimately the achievement of impact outcomes, featuring Shami Nissan (Actis), Aicha Zakraoui (AfricInvest), and Catherine Macaulay (Schroders).

In addition to our planned programming, there was ample opportunity for our Signatories and guests to connect and engage with one another. Thank you to all who joined us in celebration.

Thank you to Schroders for hosting our event and to sponsors IDB Invest and UK International Development for making it possible. We also want to express our gratitude to IFC for its significant contribution to the market in launching and serving as initial host of the Impact Principles, and to our current host the The Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) for its support and partnership in shaping this next phase. Finally, we want to show our sincere appreciation to our past and current Advisory Board members and to all our Signatories for their incredible commitment to elevating integrity in impact practice.
